Szczyrk is located in Silesian Beskids (Beskid Śląski) in a picturesque valley, between the slopes of Skrzyczne and Klimczok. Thanks to its tourist attractions and the largest number of ski slopes in Poland, it is popular all year round. It’s a town where Carpathian tradition has seamlessly merged with a modernity.
It is the largest ski resort in Poland with 40 km of marvellous pistes and modern aerial tramway, that are used by tourists also in summer. Picturesque hiking trails are perfect for active family breaks. There is a junction of trails in the town centre. It is from here that we will head to Skrzyczne and Klimczok, as well as other interesting mountains. Cyclists will enjoy one-way downhill paths, guaranteeing a big kick of adrenaline, as well as a cycle and pedestrian path, which passes along the Żylica River.
Szczyrk is not only about tourism, sport and leisure. It is also about culture. You can find here two sanctuaries: there is the historic Church of Our Lady the Queen of Poland “on the Hill” and the historic Church of St James the Elder Apostle, with its Baroque interior, as well as art galleries where you can meet local artists.
